Two restaurant-centric tech enterprises, Opsi and Plate IQ, have announced a new partnership to transform restaurant operations.

Opsi, which offers a workflow app for restaurant professionals, will join Plate IQ’s partner network and help restaurants manage their accounts payable and their day-to-day operations.

Opsi co-founder and Chef James Passafaro said: “Recognising the need to provide customers with invoice processing and AP solutions, we wanted to partner with a leader in this industry.

“Plate IQ has a strong track record in this domain and through creating a distinctive, seamless integration between our two systems, we can guarantee that our customers benefit from superior software for both recipe costing and invoice processing.”

Under the new partnership, Plate IQ’s invoice, payment and audit information will be integrated with Opsi’s tech stack.

Opsi will use Plate IQ’s machine learning (ML) and AP automation to enable restaurant owners to optimise their accounts payable process.

Through this collaboration, Plate IQ’s clients will also witness a feature set designed specifically by chefs for chefs to optimise the way restaurants operate.

Plate IQ CEO Barrett Boston said: “We are thrilled to announce our new integration with Opsi, a strategic collaboration that marks a significant step towards innovation and growth.

“By combining our expertise and resources, we are poised to create unparalleled value for our restaurant and hospitality clients as we continue to drive industry evolution.”

Could the consumer industry be bolstered by the increased use of AI

The consumer goods, foodservice, and packaging sectors are undergoing digital transformation, accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic and changing consumer preferences. Data science and ML are strong investments across all areas. For the most part, these sectors will not play a significant role in creating and developing AI hardware or platforms, but will instead help scale up the adoption of AI technologies, such as CV, conversational platforms, and smart robots.
