US-based fast-casual bakery-café chain Panera Bread has expanded its menu with the launch of Croissant Toast sandwiches from 16 April 2025.
The addition is part of the brand's spring menu refresh. It includes the new Strawberry Chicken Caprese Salad and the return of Mexican Street Corn Chowder and Strawberry Poppyseed Chicken Salad at its cafés across the US.
The sandwiches feature bread made with croissant dough, providing a buttery and toast-like texture with a crunch.
For a limited period, guests can select either the Croque Monsieur Croissant Toast or the Fromage Croissant Toast.
Croque Monsieur Croissant Toast is a ham and cheese sandwich featuring Black Forest ham, asiago cheeses and melted provolone topped with a caramelised onion and gruyere spread.
Fromage Croissant Toast elevates a simple cheese sandwich with melted provolone and American cheeses, arugula, caramelised onions and garlic aioli.
Panera Bread culinary vice-president Scott Uehlein stated: “These unique sandwiches are curated with an all-butter, flaky croissant sliced bread, delivering a truly delicious product and experience like nothing Panera has had on its menu before.”
The menu innovations are part of Panera's new "It Just Meals Good" brand platform.
Chief marketing officer Mark Shambura stated: “With our new brand platform, ‘It Just Meals Good,’ we are bringing energy, confidence and a renewed focus on what makes Panera unique while leaning into our heritage.
“We are going beyond our menu and celebrating the power of a meal that is special and worth savouring – and the best thing is our guests get to decide exactly what that means for them in the moment.”
In January 2025, Panera introduced the Asiago Bagel Stacks, a new take on its signature Asiago Bagel, priced at $7.99.
