US-based fast casual restaurant chain Panera Bread has added the new Ham, Egg & Cheese on a Cinnamon Crunch Bagel to its seasonal autumn menu.

It also re-launched its signature Cinnamon Crunch Latte. Both of these items will be available across all Panera bakery-cafes in the US from 30 August 2023.

Panera’s new breakfast sandwich includes Black Forest Ham, scrambled egg, aged white cheddar and salt and pepper on a toasted Cinnamon Crunch Bagel.

On the other hand, Cinnamon Crunch Latte is a seasonal beverage containing warm flavours of cinnamon and espresso.

The restaurant chain has also expanded its beverage line-up with Blood Orange Charged Splash, a zero-sugar option for guests and Unlimited Sip Club members. It contains caffeine from guarana and green coffee extract.

Panera Bread chief food innovation officer and head chef Claes Petersson said: “For years, we've seen how much our guests love our Cinnamon Crunch Bagel and it inspired us to create a sandwich with a sweet and savoury combination that is delicious for breakfast and pairs perfectly with our Cinnamon Crunch Latte.

“Whether it is the warm, spicy flavours of cinnamon or the refreshing Blood Orange natural flavour, Panera's new offerings create a delicious menu for the changing seasons.”

Earlier this month, Panera Bread expanded its menu in the US with the launch of its Value Duets.

Value Duets comprise flavour-packed combinations of Panera favourites and include a half-portion of a sandwich or salad and a cup of soup.

Could the consumer industry be bolstered by the increased use of AI

The consumer goods, foodservice, and packaging sectors are undergoing digital transformation, accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic and changing consumer preferences. Data science and ML are strong investments across all areas. For the most part, these sectors will not play a significant role in creating and developing AI hardware or platforms, but will instead help scale up the adoption of AI technologies, such as CV, conversational platforms, and smart robots.
