Japan-based fast casual restaurant concept Pepper Lunch has signed a multi-unit development agreement with BID Investment Group in the US.

As per the agreement, ten units will open across and around Phoenix, Arizona, over the next five years.

BID Investment Group managing partner Jake Ireland said: “Our company operates in almost every aspect of the restaurant value chain, working to bring lower-cost solutions to the development of the market.

“Pepper Lunch’s value proposition, combined with the concept's uniqueness and menu flavour profiles, has clearly positioned it to become America’s next big restaurant brand.

“There is simply nothing like this in Phoenix and we know that residents are always looking for new, fun and exciting dining experiences. The area is also one of the fastest growing metros in the USA, driving the need for more dining options.”

The restaurant company plans to open the first from this agreement in late Q3 2024. It also aims to open 100 North American locations by 2026.

Pepper Lunch currently has more than 500 locations across 15 countries.

Pepper Lunch CEO Troy Hooper said: “Pepper Lunch’s service and guest experience are unique and special and the food is authentic, yet approachable.

“We’re thrilled to kick off our domestic franchise expansion by partnering with industry veterans who understand the operational gameplan, which leads to success.”

Pepper Lunch’s current US locations are Irvine, Artesia and Alhambra in California, Las Vegas in Nevada and Houston in Texas.
