California-based pizza chain Pieology has announced the launch of its Dessert Pizza in the US.

The company said that its Dessert Pizza has been crafted with 7in hand-stretched, house-made dough, which is then topped with a drizzle of Nutella Hazelnut Chocolate and sweetened condensed milk.

The new pizza has been rolled out across all the company's outlets.

To create the Dessert Pizza, the fast casual brand has officially partnered with hazelnut spread maker Nutella.

With this partnership, Pieology has become the first restaurant brand to officially collaborate with Nutella.

Pieology CEO Shawn Thompson said: “At Pieology, we are pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the realm of pizza.

“Our collaboration with Nutella is a testament to our commitment to innovation and our desire to offer our customers something truly special. We believe it will satisfy sweet cravings and create memorable dining moments for our guests.”

Pieology was established in 2011 and offers custom pizzas with a wide range of crusts, sauces and toppings. It currently operates 130 franchise restaurant locations in the country.

In January 2022, the company appointed Shawn Thompson as its new CEO.

Prior to joining Pieology, Thompson was associated with Supercuts, where he served as the company’s president.
