Pizza Hut Japan has unveiled a new culinary creation, the Kotteri-fuu Ramen Pizza, in collaboration with the renowned ramen chain Tenka Ippin, Sora News 24 has reported.

The innovative dish is part of Pizza Hut's 50th anniversary celebration and is available from 22 January to 12 February 2024 at branches across Japan.

The pizza features the signature kotteri broth from Tenka Ippin, known for its rich flavour.

The kotteri broth was adapted to complement the pizza's dough base without losing its distinctive taste or aroma. The broth is traditionally made from chicken bones and a variety of vegetables.

To prevent the pizza dough from soaking up the broth, the two companies have thickened it to a sauce-like consistency, allowing the flavour to remain a highlight of the pizza without compromising the texture of the base. Perfecting the recipe took almost half a year.

While the pizza is already topped with the sauce, customers will receive an extra sauce on the side, to boost the flavour to their liking.

Customers can also add classic toppings such as green onions and chashu pork.

A medium-sized Ramen Pizza is priced at Y1,980 ($13.4) for pickup and Y2,230 for delivery.

The new launch follows the success of Pizza Hut Japan's previous offerings: the Too Much Coriander Pizza and the Wiener Coffee Pizza.
