Fast food restaurant chain Popeyes has expanded its menu in Canada with the addition of five new wing flavours to its menu.

The new additions are Honey BBQ, Roasted Garlic Parmesan, Signature Hot, Honey Garlic and Ghost Pepper.

The new Honey Garlic flavour is exclusively for the Canadian market and is suitable for those who crave a sweet yet bold flavour.

Honey BBQ flavour is tangy with sweet honey and smoky molasses, paired with Popeyes' signature crispy breading.

Roasted Garlic Parmesan wings are flavoured with caramelised garlic, parmesan and asiago cheese, while the Signature Hot wings are tossed in Cajun hot sauce with a hint of southern sweetness.

One of the new flavours is a re-launch: Ghost Pepper wings, which are marinated in a dry spice blend before being hand-breaded and fried.

Popeyes added that each of the flavours is a testament to the brand's commitment to innovation and to its Louisiana roots.

Popeyes Canada general manager Rob Manuel stated: “At Popeyes, we're all about providing variety and exciting menu innovations for our guests.

“Complementing our explosively popular Ghost Pepper Wings, we're so excited to expand this offering with four new flavours - something for everyone and every taste.

“Whether you're having a game-day get-together or a movie night at home, you can have the perfect "wings night in" with Popeyes.”

The restaurant brand added that all its wings are marinated, hand-battered and breaded, with Popeyes spices for extra flavour and juiciness.

Popeyes culinary innovation vice-president and head chef Amy Alarcon said: “This is something my team has been working on for three years, and we took our time to get it right.

“Ghost Pepper has become a heavy hitter in our arsenal of products, and in marrying that with our wings we knew we had something special. Now, we've found ways to add flavours on top for a variety of tastes our guests are sure to love.”
