US-based fast food chain Popeyes has partnered with condiments producer Truff to launch the Spicy TRUFF Chicken Sandwich.

Retaining all the properties of Popeyes' Chicken Sandwich, the Spicy TRUFF Chicken Sandwich is topped with TRUFF’s spicy mayo, which features flavours of red jalapeno, rich, creamy mayo and black winter truffle.

Popeyes president Sami Siddiqui said: “Both Popeyes and TRUFF have reimagined our industries, and now we are coming together to challenge the status quo on the concept of ‘fancy food,’ but for every day.

“‘We Don’t Make Sense, We Make Chicken’ is the ethos behind Popeyes culinary innovation and this collaboration is no exception.

“It initially might not make sense to a food connoisseur to crave truffle on a fast-food chicken sandwich, but Popeyes food defies all logic with its homemade traditions and vibrant flavours.”

The new spicy sandwich will be available for purchase across all participating Popeyes restaurants in the country for a limited time.

TRUFF co-founder and co-CEO Nick Ajluni said: “When we first started TRUFF, my Co-Founder [Nick Guillen] and I would take our truffle-infused products to fast food joints and shave real black truffles on their menu items, followed by a drizzle of TRUFF. In response, TRUFF became a phenomenon online.

“That origin story comes full circle as we announce our partnership with Popeyes, a brand that has set the tone for what’s trending in the QSR space over the past few years.

“We are pleased to work with Popeyes to redefine “fast-food” and offer an experience where an elevated product like TRUFF mixes seamlessly with the Popeyes Chicken Sandwich.”

QSR was the largest channel in the French food service profit sector in 2022 dominated by independent operators
