US-based speciality sandwich and sub shop PrimoHoagies has signed 20 new franchise agreements to expand into new locations across the US.

It also includes PrimoHoagies’ first franchise deal in Massachusetts.

The signing is part of the company’s strategy to develop new locations across the eastern and mid-western parts of the country.

The expansion plan will also involve the opening of eight new locations in the metro-Detroit region of Michigan; one location in Jamison, Pennsylvania; and two locations in Mine Hill, New Jersey.

PrimoHoagies will also open three new outlets in each of the regions of Springfield,  Massachusetts, Rochester, New York, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The company said that some of these new locations are scheduled to open by May 2024.

PrimoHoagies owner and CEO Nicholas Papanier Jr said: “PrimoHoagies is on a mission to redefine the sandwich experience across the US.

“As we venture into new markets and deepen our roots in existing ones, we are not just offering sandwiches; we are inviting passionate entrepreneurs to join us in this exciting journey. Together, we will continue to raise the bar and set new standards.”

The latest expansion effort highlights PrimoHoagies’ accelerated growth plan across the country.

The Hoagie chain already owns and operates more than 100 restaurants and plans to open nearly 115 locations by the end of this year.

With a vision to open more than 300 locations in the near future, PrimoHoagies also launched its “Prosper with Primo” franchise fee reduction programme.

Active until 30 November, this programme offers a 50% reduction in the initial franchise fee along with additional discounts such as royalty abatement for transactions involving three or more units.

PrimoHoagies currently has a total of 70 locations under development across ten US states.

The company is actively looking for potential franchisees across 25 eastern, midwestern and southern US states.

Texas, Florida and Colorado are some key focus markets.
