Plant-based meat producer Rebellyous Foods has announced a strategic partnership with Dot Foods to enhance the distribution of its plant-based chicken alternatives in the US.
The collaboration signifies an advancement for Rebellyous Foods, enabling widespread availability of its plant-based chicken patties, tenders and nuggets to foodservice operators across the country.
Dot Foods operates a redistribution model that allows suppliers to ship products in "less-than-truckload" quantities.
This model ensures weekly distribution to a network of more than 5,020 distributors and offers a two-to-four-day turnaround on orders without a minimum case requirement.
The partnership is expected to significantly boost the accessibility of Rebellyous' plant-based chicken offerings to foodservice venues, including small and large restaurants, event spaces, institutions and school districts.
Rebellyous Foods chief relationship officer Kristie Middleton said: “Partnering with Dot Foods is a game-changer for Rebellyous Foods.”
"Their expansive distribution network will enable us to reach more foodservice establishments nationwide, meeting the growing consumer demand for high-quality, affordable plant-based proteins in the dining sector. Whether it’s a regional lunch spot, university dining hall or a family-owned restaurant, our products will now be more accessible than ever."
Rebellyous Foods stated that the alliance with Dot Foods presents an opportunity for foodservice operators of all sizes to integrate its plant-based nuggets, tenders and patties into their menus.
These products provide healthier, sustainable and palatable alternatives for consumers seeking plant-based options.
Dot Foods senior business development manager Billy Bell said: “Dot is thrilled to partner with Rebellyous Foods as their supply chain partner helping them grow their foodservice business. They are a great addition to our plant-based offering”.
In September 2024, Rebellyous Foods launched its Mock 2 production system, an innovative technology designed to manufacture plant-based meat competitively against traditional meat in terms of price and quality.
It believes that this technological breakthrough is poised to revolutionise the availability and adoption of sustainable protein alternatives.
