Canada-based restaurant franchise Redberry Restaurants has named Robert Masson as its chief development officer (CDO) with immediate effect.
The brand has rapidly expanded over the last year and reached agreements to open more than 300 new Burger King and Taco Bell locations over the next few years.
In a press release, the company stated that this growth triggered the establishment of a new position to meet Redberry’s goal of becoming Canada’s largest and fastest-growing quick service restaurant (QSR) franchisee.
Masson has been with Redberry for more than two and a half years as its chief financial officer.
Redberry Restaurants CEO Ken Otto said: “After successfully leading our finance, accounting and IT team, Robert expressed a desire to contribute to Redberry in new ways based on his retail and financial experience.
“In his current role, Robert has proven himself to be a remarkable leader, making him the strategic choice to become our new chief development officer.”
Masson has previously worked as the CFO of Sleep Country Canada, Second Cup and Dentalcorp.
He holds a Bachelor of commerce (accounting and finance) and a post-graduate diploma in accounting and auditing from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
Masson said: “I have never been more excited about the growth prospects of Redberry with our plans to build hundreds of more stores across Canada.
“Together with the rest of our leadership team, I am eager to continue to demonstrate our ability to partner with iconic QSR brands and showcase them at their best throughout Canada.”
