Restaurant Brands International (RBI), the owner of Burger King and Tim Hortons brands, has boosted its senior-level management team by making two new hires.
RBI appointed Peter Perdue as the chief operating officer (COO) of Burger King US and Canada and Katerina Glyptis as Tim Hortons US president.
For more than a decade, Perdue has been associated with RBI, holding senior roles in franchising, operations, finance, field support and retail in the US and Asia Pacific region.
Perdue will focus on operational consistency across North America's 7,200 Burger King restaurants.
He will also oversee restaurant operations, the field team and company-owned restaurants.
He will be reporting to Burger King US and Canada president Tom Curtis.
Curtis said: “A greater focus on operational consistency is foundational to the success of our 'Reclaim the Flame' plan.
“Peter has proven experience working closely with franchisees to improve profitability through operations initiatives, in addition to supporting restaurants through our field team and his experience running our business in the Asia Pacific region.
“He has been an architect of our current plan and is a trusted partner for our franchisees. I’m very happy to continue to work closely with him as our new chief operating officer as we accelerate growth for the Burger King brand in North America.”
RBI appointed Glyptis to expedite the brand's growth and development in the region.
She will be reporting to Tim Hortons Canada and US president Axel Schwan.
Schwan said: “Tim Hortons has had two years of consistent, strong comparable sales growth in our home market of Canada, in addition to now successfully growing in 15 countries around the world.
“We have a strong base for our business in the US with over 600 restaurants and we believe our home market and international experience now positions us to meaningfully accelerate our Tim Hortons US business.”
