US-based restaurant brand Sweetgreen has announced the opening of its first outlet in San Antonio, Texas.
The restaurant is located at 340 East Basse Rd, Suite 101, in the Quarry Village community and aims to offer “healthy and convenient food” to local families, residents and visitors.
It has the capacity to host 32 indoor diners with banquette and counter seating facilities. The restaurant also includes a patio that can accommodate up to 15 people.
Sweetgreen’s local partners are Rio Fresh Farm, Fredericksburg Peach, Kitchen Pride, Village Farms, Bowers Shrimp Farm and Banyan Foods.
The San Antonio restaurant offers pick-up or delivery options. It also provides its customers with access to the brand’s freemium model loyalty programme, Sweetpass, through the company’s app or website.
Customers can access the Sweetpass through free or charged options by selecting customised ‘challenges’.
Customers can also gain exclusive access to new menu items and limited-edition merchandise using the programme.
sweetgreen co-founder and CEO Jonathan Neman said: “San Antonio is a city with so much history, with a vibrant food and dining scene to match and we couldn't be more excited to be joining the community.
“We look forward to continuing our commitment of connecting residents in Texas to real, healthy, convenient food.”
The latest development comes shortly after sweetgreen opened its first restaurant driven by an automated production line in Naperville, Illinois.
The automated production line has the capability to prepare 100% of the restaurant’s orders, thereby eliminating the need for front and secondary makelines.
