US-based ice cream chain Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard has executed a multi-unit agreement to establish new locations in Austin, Texas as part of its growth strategy.

The first of these five locations will open in 2024.

The expansion is spearheaded by Salvator Raccuglia, an entrepreneur from Redding, Pennsylvania.

Raccuglia said: “Rita's has been a part of my life since I was young, so it's been exciting to be part of the brand's growth here in Austin. I am looking forward to sharing my love of this amazing brand with this thriving community.

“I have many fond memories with my friends and family at Rita's, and I hope it will be a place where people can gather year-round and make their own memories with the brand.”

The new location will offer Rita's Gelatis, Italian Ice, Concretes [ice creams containing a higher ratio of egg yolks], Milkshakes and Frozen Custard.

Made fresh daily, Rita's signature Italian Ice will be offered in a rotating daily selection from 75 flavours.

Rita's is seeking more franchise partners to drive further expansion across Texas.

In 2023 Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard launched a new line of cold brew frozen coffees.

The new cold coffees are offered in three flavours: original cold brew, mocha and caramel.
