US-based fast-casual restaurant chain Rubio's Coastal Grill has launched new carnitas options at its outlets.
The restaurant chain now offers guests the new Baja-inspired Carnitas Macha Two Taco Plate, Carnitas Macha Bowl & Carnitas Macha Burrito.
Rubio’s co-founder Ralph Rubio said: “Our new carnitas are grilled to be slightly crispy on the outside while still juicy on the inside and feature premium cuts of tender pork slow cooked to perfection.
“They are marinated with fresh oranges, garlic and onion and topped with our new signature Salsa Macha — made with ancho and guajillo chiles, roasted pepitas, chipotle peppers and a squeeze of lime. They are next-level delicious.”
The restaurant chain, which specialises in Mexican food, noted that the guests can also substitute the chicken or steak on their favourite dishes with get the carnitas.
Rubio’s offerings also include beverages such as Mango Lime Agua Fresca, Jarritos Pineapple, Mandarin and Mineragua and a new ready-to-drink Seaborn Margarita.
As part of its Summer of Baja celebration, from 25 May 2023 until the Labor Day weekend 2023, it will offer its dine-in guests $3 alcohol and free chips every Thursday to Sunday.
In October 2020, Rubio’s filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and a restructuring plan in the bankruptcy court of Wilmington, Delaware.
