McDonald's India has partnered with a one-tap checkout network solutions provider Simpl to enhance the online checkout experience of its customers.
The partnership will allow customers using McDelivery platforms to use Simpl's 1-tap pay functionality when placing orders.
Targeted mainly at McDonald's in India's western and southern regions, the latest collaboration comes in response to the increasing number of online orders placed by McDonald's customers.
In these two regions, the fast food chain’s mobile app and McDelivery app have received nearly 24 million downloads and millions of new registered customers.
McDonald's India chief marketing officer Arvind R P said: “At McDonald’s India, we are committed to offering our customers the best experience across touchpoints.
“By integrating Simpl's technology into our McDelivery platform, we are enabling millions of customers to enjoy the one-tap checkout experience and their favourite McDonald's meals in no time.”
Currently, McDonald’s has a total of 357 restaurants located across 56 cities in the West and South of India.
In future, the company is focusing on expanding its presence in India by adding another 40 to 45 new restaurants in the country in the fiscal year 2023-2024.
McDonald’s intends to open between 580 and 630 restaurants in India as part of its broader expansion plans.
Simpl CEO and founder Nitya Sharma said: “As an organisation committed to providing customers with a frictionless checkout experience online, we are increasingly partnering with small, medium and large enterprise merchants to offer millions of their customers our state-of-the-art one-tap payment experience.
“This assumes significance as the Checkout network plays a crucial role in onboarding new customers and increasing customers’ engagement with the platform.”
