American fast casual restaurant chain Smashburger has expanded its range with the launch of the Mango Habanero Crispy Chicken Sandwich.
The latest addition is available at all Smashburger locations in the US and will be on the menu until 23 April 2024.
The Mango Habanero Crispy Chicken Sandwich features a crispy chicken breast coated in a tropical-inspired sauce, blending the tastes of mango and habanero, and is topped with lettuce and mayonnaise.
Customers can place their order by visiting any Smashburger location or through the brand's website and mobile app.
The Mango Habanero Crispy Chicken Sandwich is also accessible through third-party delivery platforms including DoorDash, Postmates, Uber Eats and GrubHub.
Smashburger chief restaurant support officer Eric Marcoux said: “At Smashburger, we pride ourselves on keeping a consistent pulse on our guests' ever-evolving taste preferences.
“We're so excited to merge these two distinct flavour profiles to create a spicy new LTO [limited time offer] – bringing the tropical flavours of sweet heat to our guests nationwide.”
Last month, Smashburger added a new plant-based burger to its menu across all its US locations.
Made from jackfruit, the burger is a result of a collaboration with jack & annie’s, a fellow Colorado-based company. The decision to make the plant-based burger a permanent offering follows a successful limited-time menu test and positive consumer feedback.
The new menu item features American vegan cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, pickles, Smash Sauce and ketchup on a toasted bun.
