American restaurant chain Chipotle Mexican Grill has relaunched Smoked Brisket at participating restaurants across the US and Canada for a limited period.

The relaunch comes three years after the item was first introduced.

Chipotle's culinary vice-president Nevielle Panthaky recommends the Smoked Brisket Burrito Bowl, which combines white rice, black beans, fresh tomato salsa and cheese, for those trying Smoked Brisket for the first time, and says that this is not the typical brisket experience, as it is crafted using classic cooking methods.

The dish is prepared using responsibly raised beef, and the meat is seared on a plancha [cooking plate], seasoned with a blend of spices including smoked serrano and chipotle chili peppers, then hand-chopped and finished with a brisket sauce infused with smoky chili peppers.

Chipotle emphasised that it prepares the Smoked Brisket in small batches throughout the day to ensure optimal freshness.

From 12 to 29 September 2024, Chipotle is offering free delivery on all Smoked Brisket orders placed through its app and website in both the US and Canada.

Chipotle Mexican Grill chief brand officer Chris Brandt said: “We are listening to our guests and bringing this fan-favourite menu innovation out of the vault after three years.

“This premium protein is sure to delight guests looking to taste the difference of brisket prepared the Chipotle way.”

As of 30 June 2024, the company operated 3,500 locations in countries including Canada, France, Germany, Kuwait, the UK and the US.

In July 2024, Chipotle Mexican Grill introduced new ready-to-drink beverages for the summer at its US restaurants.
