US-based barbecue restaurant brand Sonny’s BBQ has announced the launch of its new limited-edition BBQ Tour Sampler.

The restaurant chain stated that the flavours of some of the greatest BBQs in the nation served as inspiration for its latest product.

It added that the new product from Sonny's BBQ Pitmasters pays homage to their favourite regional barbecue meals and styles, offering a unique flavour profile.

BBQ Tour Sampler includes the Carolina Pulled Pork, the Memphis Dry-Rubbed Ribs and Smoked Wings tossed in an Alabama White Sauce or a Florida Smokin' Citrus Sauce.

Starting 30 October 2023, the entrée will be served with two sidekicks and bread across all Sonny's BBQ locations until 24 December 2023.

Sonny's BBQ is also serving up its Smoked Wings appetisers with the option of having them served in their new Alabama White Sauce or Florida Smokin' Citrus Sauce.

Customers can purchase the BBQ Tour Sampler and Smoked Wings in the restaurant or online.

Sonny's BBQ Pitmaster Shannon Snell said: “Sonny's Pitmasters have been travelling and touring some of the most celebrated regions for BBQ to learn their stories that have led to the development of these distinct flavours.

“We're excited to share this new offering with all of our bbq-loving fans and to give them a taste of some of the amazing regional bbq that inspires us every day."

Earlier this month, Sonny’s BBQ deployed Flybuy and Koala technology to improve guests’ off-premise experience.

Customer engagement drives metaverse investment in the foodservice sector

COVID-19 and supply chain disruptions following the Ukraine war have accelerated automation and digitalization in the foodservice sector. Home delivery services and consumer engagement through digital channels have become essential for businesses trying to stay afloat. Foodservice companies must also cope with ESG issues, the fast-changing world of work, and the global economy heading for recession and possible stagflation. The metaverse, enabled by both AR and VR, is an important tool that can help address many of the foodservice industry's key challenges.
