SSP America, which is part of the British multinational SSP Group, has secured a contract to develop six new dining outlets at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG).

This is the company's inaugural venture into CVG, and brings a mix of local and national brands to the airport's foodservice offerings.

The new restaurants to be introduced to the airports are Bengals Bar & Kitchen, Taste of Belgium, Carmella’s Modern Trattoria, Dunkin’ and Tap & Pour Gastrobar.

SSP America Airport development and retention senior vice-president Paul Loupakos said: “The SSP America team values the enormous economic impact CVG has on the region as a direct result of strategic, long-term investment.

“We will be enthusiastic members of the airport community ready to deliver a terrific passenger experience given our focus on bringing travelers a true taste of place. Among the planned establishments is Bengals Bar & Kitchen, a sports bar celebrating the Cincinnati Bengals. This contemporary venue aims to enhance the airport's dining scene with its sports-themed atmosphere.

Taste of Belgium offers Belgian-inspired culinary experience. It will feature a menu that combines Belgian and American cuisine, with an emphasis on local ingredients and an extensive selection of Belgian beers.

Italian cuisine will also have a presence with the opening of Carmella’s Modern Trattoria at CVG. This concept will provide a full-service bar and restaurant with a chef-driven menu and scratch-made Italian dishes.

For quick-service options, two new Dunkin' locations will serve a variety of espresso drinks, teas, frozen beverages, sandwiches and baked goods to travelers on the go.

Tap & Pour Gastrobar, a concept tailored for airport patrons, will offer hand-crafted drinks, local brews and dishes that showcase regional flavours.

SSP America will be incorporating local flavours that would resonate well with both travellers and the Cincinnati community.

Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport CEO Candace McGraw said: “We remain focused on elevating the airport, adding creative and new food and beverage options for travellers.

“We have had great success partnering with local brands to bring more local flavours into the airport. Last year, we opened several new concessions, and we look forward to rolling out these concepts in the coming years.”

In October 2023, SSP America secured a contract from Colorado Springs Airport to develop a portfolio of nine concepts.
