UK-based foodservice company SSP Group has announced the opening of a new Food Park at Abu Dhabi International Airport in the United Arab Emirates.

Located at Terminal A, SSP’s Food Park includes nine units of renowned brands and local concepts, serving those working at the airport, as well as travellers.

The 1,770m² Food Park can accommodate 700 guests.

It features SSP’s brands including coffee shop Ritazza, Camden Food Co, and Levitom which offers Italian dishes, including pizza, pasta and tiramisu.

SSP created the Patamar outlet specifically for the airport. It offers traditional Indian fare such as curries, Asian dishes such as sushi and ramen, and Filipino breakfast silog.

Food Park's brands have been carefully curated to meet the needs of the passengers travelling through the terminal.

They include TGI Fridays, Burger King and Mövenpick Ice Cream, as well as the first Butlers Chocolate Café in Abu Dhabi.

SSP has also collaborated with franchises such as Operation Falafel, a Dubai-based Arabic street food brand, and fast food concept Texas Chicken which serves fresh fried chicken and a variety of sandwiches, wraps and Texan-style sides including honey butter biscuits.

Food Park has created 60 new employment opportunities.

Abu Dhabi Airport chief commercial officer Maureen Bannerman stated: “We are delighted to welcome SSP Group and their one-of-a-kind, innovative Food Park to Abu Dhabi International Airport.

“Their hospitality experience and multiple cuisine offerings further add to the wide array of customer services available to our passengers at the state-of-the-art Terminal A. With 163 food and beverage and retail options, Terminal A elevates the airport experience.”

In August 2023, SSP Group secured a seven-year contract extension at London City Airport where it will oversee and open new food and beverage concepts.
