Starbucks Argentina, operated by Alsea, has expanded its market presence with the launch of its first drive-through store, located in Nordelta, in the city of Buenos Aires.
The new outlet, located at Avenida Agustín M García 8554, aims to enhance customer experience by combining convenience with an atmosphere that reflects the local Argentine delta [a forested marshland near the city which is a popular tourist destination].
The Nordelta store is designed by architect Victoria Odriozola and utilises native materials such as jute and walnut wood.
Its murals are by Argentine artist RoF Varela and feature the white heron, the blue tacuarita and monarch butterflies - three native species of the delta - along with cortaderas (feather plumes), passion flowers, lilies, salvia guaranítica (the violet plant) and solidago (yellow flowers).
Starbucks' latest store includes electric vehicle charging stations, bicycle repair space and solar panels.
Starbucks director for Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay and Uruguay Claudia Aburto said: "We are thrilled to bring the Starbucks drive-through experience to the Nordelta community, enhancing and modernising our presence in the area.
“Our design and architecture teams have created a space that highlights local artwork, natural light and work areas where all our customers are welcome, fostering moments of connection around coffee".
Since entering the Argentine market in 2008, Starbucks has opened 133 stores and now has more than 2,000 employees across the country.
The Nordelta location creates a further 21 jobs.
The drive-through will operate from Monday to Thursday from 7am to 10pm, extend its hours on Fridays until 11pm, and welcome customers from 8am to 11pm on weekends.
In October 2024, Starbucks suspended its forecast for the full fiscal year 2025 as its new CEO Brian Niccol called for fundamental change in the chain’s strategy to return to growth.
