Multinational quick service restaurant company Subway has appointed Courtney Hindorff as the new managing director for Canada.
Before joining Subway, Hindorff was associated with Recipe Unlimited (formerly Cara Operations), where he served as vice-president for franchising and international development.
Hindorff has also held senior leadership roles at Harvey's, Swiss Chalet, New York Fries and East Side Mario's.
He has more than ten years of experience in the restaurant and franchising business in Canada.
He will now be responsible for leading Subway Canada's growth and multi-year transformation journey, including improving franchisee profitability and enhancing guest experience via culinary innovation, operational excellence and strategic development.
Hindorff stated: “Subway Canada is a transformative brand and leader in the quick-serve restaurant space that continues to redefine success and meet evolving guest needs.
“I look forward to working with the team to drive the Subway brand forward by amplifying our presence across Canada, fostering authentic, mutually beneficial relations with franchisees and celebrating our valued guests.”
His appointment comes after Douglas Fry's elevation to the position of North American president of Subway earlier this year.
Fry said: “It is with great excitement that we welcome Courtney to Subway Canada.
“Working alongside an incredible Canadian management team, I am confident that Courtney's exceptional leadership, deep industry knowledge and dedication to supporting franchisees will propel our brand to new heights as we strive to make Subway restaurants the preferred destination to eat, drink and work.”
In October 2023, Subway opened its second dual headquarters in Shelton, Connecticut, US.
The new global dual headquarters is located at 1 Corporate Drive, an office building within RD Scintos’ Enterprise Corporate Park in Shelton’s business district.
It is ten miles away from Subway’s former Milford office, providing easy access to both main and alternative roadways.
