Subway makes changes to leadership team

With these changes, the restaurant chain aims to build on the brand’s momentum and drive its transformation journey.

Fast food restaurant company Subway has announced changes to the leadership team with new appointments.

The company has named Douglas Fry as Subway North America president, while Carrie Walsh has been appointed as the president for the Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) region, and Mike Kehoe has been named as the company’s global chief development officer.

Douglas Fry will be replacing Trevor Haynes, who announced his exit from the company at the end of the calendar year.

Subway CEO John Chidsey said: “Trevor has played a pivotal role in shaping the brand's vision, strengthening our position in the market, and enriching the lives of our guests, franchisees, and employees.

“We're immensely grateful for his numerous contributions to accelerate our brand transformation strategy in North America and know the positive impact of his leadership will continue to shape Subway for many years to come.”

Currently, Douglas Fry who is serving as Subway Canada director, will assume the role on 5 September 2023.

Haynes will work with Fry over the remainder period in order to ensure an orderly leadership transition.

Recently, Carrie Walsh was named the president of Subway EMEA region and will be a replacement for Mike Kehoe.

Effective 16 October 2023, Kehoe will become the brand's global chief development officer.

In addition, to these appointments, the restaurant and has also promoted Cristina Wells as Subway US Marketing senior vice-president.

Earlier this month, TDR Capital and Sycamore Partners were reportedly in talks to jointly bid for the purchase of restaurant chain Subway.
