The software allows small to medium-sized restaurants to handle their table bookings free of charge.

Restaurant reservation and management system solutions provider Tableo has announced the release of a free version of its software.

The tech firm claimed that by using its free software version, restaurants can make up to 50 bookings monthly, which is suitable for small and medium-sized restaurants.

Tableo CEO Jonathan Azzopardi Frantz said: “We are confident Tableo’s free version will encourage more restaurants to make the switch from the traditional paper diary to a more robust digital solution.

“We understand that for many smaller family-run restaurants this can be a daunting task, but by offering the solution for free, we at least take away the financial impact of trying.”

The company added that through its online booking widget, the software allows restaurants to accept reservations from their website without the need for human intervention.

Tableo’s software automatically checks the availability of the tables in real-time and then allocates the reservation to the available tables.

Once reserved, customers get instant confirmation of their booking, as well as an email reminder on the day the table is reserved.

Restaurant owners and staff members will be able to view all the reservation lists in a single easy-to-use interface.

Additionally, the software saves customer details in the database that can be later used to inform customers about special menus and offers.

The data will help restaurant staff to prepare in advance for their guests.

Could the consumer industry be bolstered by the increased use of AI

The consumer goods, foodservice, and packaging sectors are undergoing digital transformation, accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic and changing consumer preferences. Data science and ML are strong investments across all areas. For the most part, these sectors will not play a significant role in creating and developing AI hardware or platforms, but will instead help scale up the adoption of AI technologies, such as CV, conversational platforms, and smart robots.
