Taco Bell launches Cantina Chicken menu in US

The new range consists of the Cantina Chicken Soft Taco, the Crispy Taco, the Burrito, the Quesadilla and the Bowl.

American restaurant chain Taco Bell has unveiled its new Cantina Chicken menu in the US market.

The menu includes the Cantina Chicken Soft Taco, the Crispy Taco, the Burrito, the Quesadilla and the Bowl.

The Cantina Chicken Crispy Taco features Cantina chicken, creamy jalapeño sauce and a three-cheese blend with a grilled cheese layer on the outside, complemented by avocado verde salsa.

The Cantina Chicken Quesadilla combines the same chicken with a warm flour tortilla, cheese, and creamy chipotle sauce, served with guacamole, reduced-fat sour cream, and avocado verde salsa.

These two new additions are currently exclusively for Taco Bell rewards members but will be available nationwide from 21 March 2024.

The Cantina Chicken Soft Taco features Cantina Chicken, avocado ranch sauce, fresh iceberg lettuce, shredded purple cabbage, cheddar cheese and pico de gallo, served with avocado verde salsa.

Cantina Chicken Burrito offers a double portion of Cantina Chicken, combined with iceberg lettuce, shredded purple cabbage, avocado ranch sauce, creamy chipotle sauce, cheddar cheese, pico de gallo and avocado verde salsa.

Cantina Chicken Bow; consists of seasoned rice, Cantina Chicken and black beans, topped with avocado verde salsa.

These three dishes are available from 18 March to Taco Bell rewards members and will roll out nationwide on 21 March 2024.

Taco Bell will increase its produce use by 2.5 million pounds in 2024 with the launch of the Cantina Chicken Menu.

Taco Bell global chief food innovation officer Liz Matthews said: “This Cantina Chicken menu has been a labour of love and we’ve worked tirelessly to ensure we landed on the best slow-roasted chicken recipe and selected the finest supporting ingredients to maximise craveability.

“As we constantly listen to our audiences, we know that a winning equation is giving them what we know they want plus something next-level.

“We knew our fans wanted more chicken, and we also knew that we could elevate chicken with unexpected ingredients like purple cabbage and avocado verde salsa.”

In February 2024, Taco Bell launched a new Mexican-flavoured offering, the Cheesy Chicken Crispanada, in the US.
