Tex-Mex chain Taco Cabana has unveiled new menu items for the upcoming 2024 holiday season.

The restaurant chain is bringing back its popular Mesquite-Smoked Brisket, slow-smoked for more than 14 hours with real mesquite [a smoky-tasting dry rub], to be available with a variety of dishes from 20 November 2024.

The restaurant's new offerings include Chicken Tortilla Soup, Margarita Pitchers, Margaritas with Salted or Sugared Rims, and Fajita Meals.

The Chicken Tortilla Soup is made with chicken in a savoury broth topped with melted jack and cheddar cheeses and tortilla strips, and is served with Mexican rice and fresh lime wedges.

The 32oz Margarita Pitchers will be available in Lime and Strawberry flavours, and Margaritas will have customisable salted or sugared rims. These beverages are available for dine-in only.

The Fajita Meals at Taco Cabana offer a choice of steak, chicken or a mixed fajita combination. Each meal is accompanied by rice, refried beans, tortillas, shredded lettuce, cheese and guacamole.

Customers can enjoy the new menu items via in-restaurant dining, drive-through, online ordering for front counter or kerbside pick-up, and through the MY TC! app or the TacoCabana.com website for mobile orders.

In April 2024, Taco Cabana announced that it would roll out a new lineup of Tortas at all its locations throughout Texas from 1 May 2024.

The updated menu featured Tortas for breakfast, lunch and dinner, along with Loaded Fries and a new partnership with Jarritos for margaritas. The launch coincided with Cinco de Mayo celebrations.
