The new casual dining restaurant Taco/Social opened its latest location at 1627 Colorado Boulevard in Los Angeles, California, on 10 October 2023.

The restaurant is located in a historic brick building with indoor dining, bar seating and an outdoor patio.

It is being promoted by Pasadena-based restauranteurs, including the founders of Blaze Pizza, Dog Haus, Wetzel's Pretzels and Gus's BBQ.

At Taco/Social, guests can order unconventional and freeform tacos along with a selection of tequila-based cocktails. The recipes have been created by chef Ilan Hall include Banh Mi, Tikka Masala, Greek Life and Nola Po Boy.

This new location is open seven days a week and claims to serve freshly prepared sauces, toppings and proteins.

The full tequila-forward bar offers speciality fresh and frozen margaritas, craft cocktails, wine and draft beer. The drinks were developed in partnership with mixologist Phil Wills.

Taco/Social and Blaze Pizza co-founder Elise Wetzel said: “We see an opportunity to approach tacos in a completely different way, so we want to make sure that everyone at our grand opening celebration gets to experience one of our signature freeform tacos on the house.

“We use a counter order format, but our tacos are incredibly well crafted, making our food both craveable and affordable. With signature cocktails, plenty of outdoor seating and a family-friendly kid's menu, Taco/Social's food and format are unique. We're thrilled to see how much the community is already enjoying it.”

Taco/Social and Dog Haus co-founder André Vener said: “This group of seasoned restaurateurs has wanted to collaborate on a new concept for a long time and now we've come together to create Taco/Social. The vision for us was to create a neighbourhood place that we'd enjoy sharing with our friends.

“The result is Taco/Social – an affordable, polished fast-casual concept with a fun bar programme. It's designed to be a community gathering spot where you can grab a quick lunch, watch a game or linger over a dinner with friends.”

Quick commerce steadily becoming the norm for most food and grocery delivery companies

The emergence of ecommerce has made it imperative that companies understand consumer behavior, deliver personalized service, and offer competitive pricing models. Per GlobalData estimates, food and drink, clothing and footwear, and accommodation were the top three sectors by global ecommerce transactions in 2022. The rise of quick commerce, particularly within food and drink, allows consumers to have items delivered to their doorstep within the hour, which has driven a surge in online sales for food and drink.
