American quick-service restaurant chain TacoTime has announced its latest promotion featuring a new item, the Smoky Pork Crisp Burrito.

It consists of pork carnitas [Mexican shredded pork], cream cheese, crispy bacon and smoky chipotle spices in a flour tortilla.

The new flavour was created by a crew member from the TacoTime outlet in Sherwood, Oregon and was the winning entry in the 2023 Crew Contest.

The newly launched item will be available until 22 October 2024.

TacoTime's menu continues to offer its crisp burrito range: Crisp Pinto Bean, Crisp Chicken and Crisp Meat.

Founded in 1960, TacoTime now operates more than 200 franchised locations across the US and Canada.

In 2003, the company joined Kahala Brands, a franchiser that manages 30 restaurant brands with 3,000 locations globally.

TacoTime's recent menu innovations include the Cheesy Chipotle Chicken Quesadilla and the Fish Taco, both of which were available for a limited period in stores.

Kahala Brands marketing director Devon Boudreau said: “We are excited to bring the Smoky Pork Crisp Burrito to our customers.

“This burrito not only showcases the culinary creativity of our team members but also offers a delicious new crisp burrito option for our guests to enjoy.”

El Pollo Loco also recently expanded its menu with three new fire-grilled chicken burritos, featuring handmade guacamole at no additional charge.

Each burrito is priced at $9.99 and available at participating El Pollo Loco locations across the US.

The company’s new additions are the Guacamole Chicken Burrito, the Chipotle Guacamole Chicken Burrito and the Queso Guacamole Chicken Burrito.
