UK-based Tesco Family Dining has signed a nationwide franchise agreement with the fast casual dessert restaurant brand Creams Café, according to The Caterer.

As per the agreement, Creams Café outlets will be opened in Tesco Cafés across the country as shop-in-shop spaces.

Creams Café offers its diners a selection of gelato, waffles, milkshakes and crêpes alongside a variety of breakfasts, light meals and hot and cold beverages.

Established in 2008, Creams Café operates approximately 100 locations across the country.

The publication quoted Creams Café chief executive Everett Fieldgate as saying: “We are delighted to be chosen as Tesco Café's first ever franchise partner – it marks a significant moment for Creams and provides a huge opportunity to expand our reach to new audiences and cement our position as the UK's favourite dessert restaurant brand.

“We can't wait to bring joy to customers of all ages with our vibrant, showstopping desserts.”

The first Tesco Café-run Creams Café will be opened at Tesco Extra Gateshead, Newcastle, on 3 August, while the second is scheduled to open at Tesco Extra Mayhill, Glasgow, on 4 August this year.

Currently, there are approximately 300 Tesco Cafés outlets present across the UK.

Last month, Tesco Cafés selected Givex to drive a digital transformation programme at its stores across its cafés across the UK.

Givex explained that its tech suite will optimise Tesco Cafés’ digital ordering approach and inventory control mechanisms.
