US-based café chain The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (CBTL) has expanded its offerings with matcha and bubble tea options via its newly launched World of Tea pilot programme.

CBTL has been serving premium coffee and tea for six decades.

The brand’s new options include Ceylon Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Boba, Matcha Cream Strawberry Latte, Oolong Tea with Strawberry and Cream Cap, and Chai with Salted Caramel Cream Cap.

This is the first time that CBTL has added a boba variant to its line-up.

Ceylon Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Boba combines CBTL’s signature fragrant Ceylon Black Tea infused with caramelised brown sugar and paired with chewy brown sugar pearls.

Matcha Cream Strawberry Latte is a blend of CBTL’s matcha tea and is layered with strawberry purée, whole milk and a matcha cream cap.

Oolong Tea with Strawberry and Cream Cap is prepared using a rich blend of Oolong tea from CBTL, summer berry purée and freeze-dried strawberries.

Chai with Salted Caramel Cream Cap combines CBTL's chai with the brand’s strong black tea with cinnamon, a salted caramel cream cap and brown sugar.

CBTL intends to tap the increasing popularity of tea in the US.

The collection will be exclusively available at nine locations in Southern California and Arizona.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Americas and India president Sanjiv Razdan stated: “The rise in speciality teas and new flavours is an emerging trend in the US and around the world. Our new World of Tea collection is a natural evolution for The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.

“We have long been regarded as tea experts and are now taking our guests on a deeper, more transformative journey. We invite everyone to discover our world of tea, where the highest quality teas are blended with invigorating fruits, spices, boba, brown sugar and salted caramel.”
