Multinational coffeehouse and restaurant chain Tim Hortons is set to re-introduce four retro donut flavours in Canada as part of its 60th-anniversary celebration.
From 10 January 2024, customers will be able to purchase the Dutchie, the Blueberry Fritter, the Cinnamon Sugar Twist and the Walnut Crunch for a limited time, as part of anniversary celebrations planned throughout the year.
Tim Hortons president Axel Schwan stated: “We are honoured that for nearly six decades, so many Canadians have considered their local Tims a home away from home and have chosen to spend a part of their daily lives with us.”
Schwan added: "As we get ready to celebrate the official 60th anniversary of Tim Hortons opening its first restaurant on 17 May 1964, we are planning a number of exciting ways to mark the occasion with our guests throughout the year.”
In addition to the donuts' relaunch, the anniversary will be commemorated with new cups, donut boxes and Timbit boxes featuring a special 60th-anniversary logo.
This logo will be displayed across all Tim Hortons restaurants in Canada, symbolising the brand's long-standing presence in the country.
Tim Hortons chief marketing officer Hope Bagozzi stated: “We are celebrating 60 years of keeping it fresh throughout the year at Tims with a series of experiences for guests that will have a spirit of modern nostalgia – nods to the past but also celebrating the Tims of today and the future.”
“We wanted to kick off our 60th anniversary year with a bang and we cannot wait to re-introduce Canadians to four retro donuts that were most popular historically among our guests.”
Tim Hortons has 4,000 locations across Canada and more than 5,700 worldwide, including a recent opening in South Korea.
The menu at Tim Hortons features a range of breakfast options, wraps, hot and cold speciality beverages, sandwiches and soups.
Beverages include lattes, signature Iced Capps, teas, cappuccinos and espressos.
In August 2023, Tim Hortons launched its new pumpkin spice-flavoured hot and cold beverages line-up and a new Dulce Apple Fritter Dream Donut.
