Canada-based restaurant chain Tim Hortons has reintroduced the Walnut Crunch and the Cherry Stick doughnut flavours in its Canada stores for a limited time.

These flavours were discontinued more than ten years ago but have been launched to celebrate National Doughnut Day.

The comeback of the Walnut Crunch and Cherry Stick started strong, achieving nationwide sales that exceeded 200,000 units.

Tim Hortons culinary innovation director Tallis Voakes said: “Over the years, guests have been asking us to bring back these two classic doughnuts and we thought there was no time like National Doughnut Day to give them both the comeback tour they deserve.

“Both the Walnut Crunch and Cherry Stick were iconic doughnuts in their time and I'm happy to report they still pack the same delicious punch in every bite.”

The Walnut Crunch is being served in restaurants throughout the country, including participating Tims locations in Quebec.

Customers can buy the Cherry Stick at Tims restaurants in Quebec and at participating Tims restaurants across the remaining areas of the country.

Tim Hortons was founded in 1964 and is one of the largest quick service restaurant chains, with 4,000 restaurants across Canada.

The company operates more than 5,400 restaurants in the US, Canada and across the globe.

It offers hot and cold speciality beverages such as espressos, cappuccinos, lattes, teas and Iced drinks.

The restaurant chain also serves wraps, sandwiches, soups and breakfast dishes.
