TH International, sole operator of Tim Hortons coffee shops in China (Tims China), has announced the opening of its first store in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province.  

Tims China now has a presence in 27 of the country's 34 provinces. 

Tims China CEO Yongchen Lu said: “We are very excited to be in Nanchang, a city of historic, geographic and economic importance. Catering to the growing number of coffee enthusiasts with a taste for premium coffee and freshly baked bagels, the new Tims store in Nanchang is designed to create memorable moments for the local community and reach many more loyal Tims coffee aficionados.  

“The store’s opening coincides with the launch of our Chinese New Year menu, featuring delicious, seasonal new offerings such as the Buttery Red Bean Bagel Latte and the Tuna Bagel Sandwich. We are excited to welcome Nanchang’s residents to experience our hospitality and savour the Tims tradition.” 

Nanchang, the capital of Jiangxi Province, has a population exceeding six and a half million and is a historically significant location.

It is close to the Meiling Mountains and Poyang Lake, the largest freshwater lake in China.  

It also serves as an essential connection between three major economic zones: the Yangtze River Delta, the Pearl River Delta and Haixi District.  

Nanchang is a central railway junction and the home of Nanchang University. 

The new store adds to Tims China's 1022-store network across 82 cities.  

The brand has a membership base of more than 24 million.  

Tims China has recently renovated 639 stores, equipping them with modernised work stations designed for efficient and fresh food preparation.  

The stores also feature open kitchens, allowing customers to watch their food being prepared.

In January 2024, Tims China announced the opening of its first seven stores within Shanghai Metro stations.
