Tso Chinese selects Voicify for conversational AI services

Voicify's AI platform can handle common questions such as opening hours, delivery options, menu details and order placement.

Tso Chinese Takeout and Delivery restaurant has selected Voicify to provide conversational artificial intelligence (AI) services.

The collaboration will streamline Tso Chinese's customer service by implementing Voicify's AI Answering system.

It will allow the kitchen staff to focus on order fulfilment without compromising customer interaction over the phone.

The AI answering service by Voicify is designed to comprehend natural human speech, enabling Tso Chinese customers to communicate their queries without altering their normal speaking patterns.

The system can handle common questions such as opening hours, delivery options, menu details and order placement.

Voicify can also send customers an SMS with a link to the Tso menu, directions for pickup and access to the online ordering system.

Tso Chinese’s chief technology officer Angell Tsang has further enhanced the capabilities of the Voicify-powered voice assistant by training it with the company's extensive knowledge base.

The Tso voice assistants are therefore equipped to address a comprehensive range of customer inquiries.

Offered at an affordable monthly rate, Voicify's AI Answering service promises to deliver cost savings in crew labour while maintaining the option for customers to connect with human staff when necessary.

The system is designed to evolve and refine its responses through continuous learning from customer interactions.

Angell Tsang said: “The Voicify AI Answering platform is incredibly powerful, limited only by your imagination.

“We've been completely blown away by how Voicify AI enables us to empower our guests by answering questions common to our menu and off-premises service style such as: 'Do you cook with MSG?' and 'Do you offer vegetarian options?'”

Voicify chief revenue officer Robert Naughton said: “Despite the fact that Tso focuses mainly on fulfilling online orders from takeout and delivery-only locations, the company still wants to be accessible to answer phone-in questions and requests from guests.

“With Voicify, Tso can automate the vast majority of call-in inquiries from guests, so team members spend less time on the phone and more time preparing delicious Chinese food.”

Western Europe foodservice market dynamics

The total revenue of the Western European foodservice profit sector totaled $685.3 billion in 2022, having declined at a negative CAGR of 2.4% during 2017–22. In 2022, FSR was the largest foodservice channel, with a value share of 25.9%, followed by QSR. However, the region’s foodservice sector is poised to bounce back as it is forecasted to register a CAGR of 8.1% by 2027.
