Restaurant chain Wendy’s has added Classic Chicken Strips and Homestyle French Toast Sticks to its menus in Canada.

The restaurant brand noted that its new menu innovation was inspired by Canadian's cravings to deliver a fresh take on classic chicken and waffles.

The Wendy's Company International chief marketing officer Liz Geraghty said: “At Wendy's, we listen to our customer's cravings and take inspiration from the two-way conversations we have with our fans on social media.

“Pairing two of our most beloved menu items from breakfast and the rest of the day, our fans inspired us to make the launch of Chicken Strips & French Toast Sticks official.”

The Wendy's Company International culinary innovation manager Hayley Kianoff said: “Seeing our fans' response after discovering this newest sweet and savoury flavour combination, we knew we had served up this fresh take on the classic chicken and waffles.

“Chicken Strips and French Toast Sticks is just the latest example of how we truly co-create our menu alongside our customers, inspired by their cravings.”

Chicken Strips and French Toast Sticks duo will be available across Wendy’s restaurants for a limited time across Canada.

Earlier this month, Wendy’s relaunched the Peppermint Frosty for this holiday season in the US and Canada.

The Peppermint Frosty Cream Cold Brew comprises smooth, cold-brewed coffee blended with peppermint syrup and served with a Frosty creamer over ice. The restaurant brand noted that its beverage was first launched last year for a limited period.

The restaurant company also offers its mobile app users a free small Frosty or small Frosty Cream Cold Brew.

In a statement, Wendy’s said: “That’s right… this offer is an in-app gift for fans to enjoy a Frosty treat of their choice – no purchase required.”

Analyzing the metaverse impact in the foodservice sector

The COVID-19 pandemic brought key IoT use cases to the attention of the T&T industry. However, beyond the use cases catalyzed by the pandemic, the digitalization enabled by IoT solutions provides T&T companies with four key benefits: enhanced operational efficiency, reduced costs, improved decision-making, and better customer experiences. IoT can even assist in the burden of overtourism and the preservation of heritage sites and physical environments. IoT is, therefore, an essential investment for travel and tourism companies in combatting climate change.
