India-based restaurant aggregator and food delivery company Zomato has announced the launch of a new artificial intelligence (AI) based chatbot, Zomato AI.
In a blog post, Zomato said: "This intelligent, intuitive, and interactive foodie has been meticulously designed to assist you in placing orders."
The new chatbot feature is being rolled out exclusively for Zomato’s subscription-based customers or ‘Gold Members’.
The company said that Zomato AI works on a multiple-agent framework, which equips the chatbot with several prompts to address and complete different tasks.
Zomato stated: “One of the we have made is the creation of numerous functions on Zomato that we are able to expose to our AI agents. This allows the AI agents to dynamically call for whatever data they need in order to best serve the customer query."
The food delivery company said it uses an in-house developed technology that can be linked with multiple prompts and functions to ensure an “uninterrupted conversation” with the chatbot.
This technology will also allow Zomato AI to provide a “seamless” customer experience, similar to texting.
Customers can send multiple messages to the chatbot and it will respond to their queries in real-time.
The company added: “Zomato AI is designed to be your ultimate foodie companion. It’s equipped to answer tough questions like 'What should I eat when I’m hungover?' or 'Can I eat something that is high protein and low carb?'
"Zomato AI is focused on helping you find the perfect dish to order when you’re browsing Zomato with a rumbling stomach."
Zomato’s move to launch its AI chatbot comes after India’s online food ordering and delivery platform Swiggy announced plans to launch its AI-based neural search feature for food ordering.
