US-based foodservice distributor Golden State Foods (GSF) has sold nine of its 27 distribution centres in the country to foodservice wholesaler The Martin Brower.
The nine facilities currently service 3,900 McDonald’s restaurants and 365 Chipotle locations across the US.

By GlobalDataGSF chairman and chief executive officer Mark Wetterau said: “We appreciate Martin Brower’s co-operation and collaboration in finalising this transaction.
“Completing the sale of these nine benchmark distribution centres to Martin Brower provides Golden State Foods the opportunity to support the McDonald’s system, its current strategy, and to reinvest in the future of our company, our associates, and all of our customers.
“This transaction will allow us to continue with and to invest in our diversification strategy and accelerate growth.”
Following the transaction, GSF will continue to manage the remaining 18 distribution centres in the US and the Middle East, as well as more than 25 food manufacturing facilities and farms globally.
Wetterau added: “As we continue to serve as a key supplier for McDonald’s in all our categories moving forward, GSF will also be looking to add new customers and companies to our successful portfolio.”
Golden State Foods currently serves as the food supplier to more than 50 foodservice companies offering meat, liquids, produce and selected distribution services across the US and globally.
